Typing speed is measured by dividing the target length by the seconds you took, converted to characters per minute (CPM). Misses count position mismatches between the target and your input, plus any extra or missing characters. Accuracy shows what share of the target you typed without errors.
The key to speed is touch typing — watching the screen instead of the keyboard. Focus on reducing misses first; as your fingers memorize the movements through repetition, speed follows naturally. Watch accuracy alongside speed for the fastest improvement.
This measurement is a simple in-page estimate. Results vary with your input method (IME learning and conversion settings) and keyboard, so compare daily records under the same conditions.
