The statistics calculator summarizes a list of numbers in one pass: count, sum, mean, median, min, max and standard deviation. Where a calculator handles two values at a time, this tool aggregates dozens or hundreds of data points instantly.
The mean is the sum divided by the count. The median is the middle value when the data is sorted, which makes it resistant to outliers: for "1, 2, 3, 4, 1000" the mean is 202 but the median is 3. Choose the measure that matches your data.
Standard deviation expresses how spread out the data is: it is the square root of the variance (the average of squared distances from the mean). This tool uses the population formula (divide by n), matching the statistics taught in school and typical data checks. Everything runs in your browser and your numbers are never transmitted.

When should I use the mean vs the median?
Use the mean for data without outliers; the median better reflects data with extreme values. Checking both is a good habit.
How is the standard deviation calculated?
It is the square root of the variance (the average of squared distances from the mean), using the population formula (divide by n).
Can I paste data from Excel?
Yes. Tab and newline separators work, as do thousands separators (1,234) and full-width commas.
